Grief

Grief affects us all differently, and we all grieve over not just losses of special human beings in our lives, but over the loss of pets, material things, and places.

We can grieve over what we thought life was going to be and what it actually is. We can grieve over many things and there can be many aspects to our grief.

Grief can affect some more deeply than others, because we are all unique. Some are never really given the opportunity to grieve and stuff it all down, because everyone else is relying on them to be their support system, through grief.

I have gone through a couple periods of grief this last year, once with the loss of my mom, and another with the loss of my grandma. Each experience of grief was different based on the relationship that I had with these two women. Some of the grief didn’t come right away and I found myself shedding tears weeks later, I found myself feeling angry, grateful and a whole mess of emotions. I allowed those emotions. I spent some time sorting through the emotions, coming to an understanding of  the emotions and where they were coming from and tapping through some of the rough spots.
