The underlying stress of setting boundaries

I know that I have written about setting boundaries before, the circumstances and the need for them.

Today I want to talk about some of the feelings that may arise when you set a boundary.

I know these feelings come up for me whenever I think about or set boundaries in my life.

You May:

  • Fear losing the person/persons that you are setting the boundary with

  • Fear upsetting the other person/persons

  • Second guess yourself

  • Think that you may have overreacted

  • Feel uncomfortable

  • Feel guilty

  • Wonder if you might be an awful person for doing this.

These feelings are all quite normal, give yourself time and see how it feels after the boundaries have been in place for awhile.

There may be stress and fears to begin with, however there are so many emotions already affecting your everyday life, when you do not create clear, healthy boundaries for yourself and your life, that it just may be worth a try.

Allow me to guide you through some of the fears, and stress that may come up with even the thoughts of setting boundaries and then when you implement those boundaries.

I am holding space for the confident, clear minded, calm, peaceful, joyful you!
